Information Technology Society

The Information Technology Society established on 2008-10-12 to enhance Information Technology skills of school children and teachers. The society can be defined as a must of time. Because the world today has gained giant victories in the field of Information Technology. Present day can be named as the climax of such achievements. So the Information Technology Society of B/Ulhitiya Maha Vidyalaya has been formed to make a generation that would be able to face future challenges.

The more we broaden our spheres of knowledge in information technology, the more we become able to gather achievements in this field. Taking this into consideration we have laid the foundation to make the Information Technology Society. We expect the encouragement and dedication of all in this regard.

Tasks Fulfilled by the Society so far

1. All students from year 6 to 13 have been allowed to get the registration of the Society and to have their own E-mail accounts.
2. Some awareness programmes were held to build up knowledge of the children and teachers how to use the internet and E-mails.
3.Awareness programmes were held how to use the newest information technology equipments such as google talk and skype in order to exchange information with each other.

Tasks Expected to be Fulfilled by the Society

1. To open E-mail accounts for all the students and the teachers of the school.
2. To become everyone a user of E-mailing and to deal with 5 mails per week at least.
3. To organise a series of seminars to make the community aware for the Information Technology Week going to be held in 2009. And to organise an exhibition as well.
4. To become every member of the school community a regular user of the internet.

Message of the Secretary

We are living in the most developed era of the history of civilization. Especially the Information Technology and Communication has become its climax. In an era like this the benefits of such development mustn't be available for only one group or clan of the community. Instead we must take the necessary steps to make those benefits a possession of each and every person. It's a great technical victory for us to have a novel experience of engaging with the community of the world, living in an unprivileged village in Mahiyangana educational zone. The Information Technology Society can be named as a path to carry the technicalities we possess towards the college community. So I wish and expect all of you to join hand in hand to gather valuable benefits of Information Technology.
