Sinhala Literary Society

The Sinhala Literary Society of B/Ulhitiya Maha Vidyalaya has been formed with the hope of leading the pupils towards the world of literature so that they would be able to walk from delight to wisdom through experience of great literary works by the renowned artists. We think that the literature is able to generate humane qualities such as love, kindness, compassion, generosity and sympathetic joy in our pupils’ hearts.  With these ultimate objectives the Sinhala Literary Society is going on successfully today. The society is held twice a month during the learning months of the year and in those meetings the future plans are discussed.

    
 

Tasks of the Sinhala Literary Society

  1. To organize a literary festival every year with the help of all pupils and teachers. The festival is known as “Mitiyawathaka Arunella”
  2. To organize literary criticizing and enjoyment  programmes for both our school children and others.
  3. To organize poetry criticizing and enjoyment programmes for students who are studying Arts subjects in our school and others.
  4. To maintain a Wall Paper in order to enhance the creative abilities of the children.
  5. To publish a monthly magazine with the literary contribution of both pupils and teachers.
