The Buddhist Society

Every pupil that leaves the school must have good humane qualities as he or she is ready to enter into the common society. The objective of a school is not only to inculcate pupils with the knowledge filled in books but to make an obedient, clever, dignified citizen so that to flourish country's future. In this case the religion bears the most important responsibility. While the teaching enables the pupils to face future challenges with a sound knowledge, religion cultivates good qualities like kindness, generosity, bravery, and obedience. Keeping that great expectation in mind the Buddhist society of B/Ulhitiya Maha Vidyalaya was formed.

The annual tasks to be fulfilled by the Society

•  Observing ‘Sil' programs

•  Meditation programs

•  Alms givings

•  Dhamma sermons

•  Dhamma discussions

•  To hold a Vesak Lantern Competition on the Veask Day

•  To organize a Poson Devotional Songs program on Poson Day

•  To organize ‘Do You Know' trophies based on Dhamma knoledge
